As soon as I started swimming on the Dolphin Swim Team at eight years old, I discovered my passion for swimming. Celena Ramirez, the head coach, made me fall in love with the sport and with the Dolphins. She made the Dolphins more than just a team, we were a family. I hope to be a role model to my swimmers just as Celena was for me. Chris Stroh was another one of my favorite coaches who always motivated me to become a faster, stronger, and smarter swimmer. Above all I hope my swimmers fall in love with the Dolphins just as I did. I will never forget how Coach Emma, Coach Megan, and I were the trio that was unstoppable throughout our childhood.

While attending Hart High School I was on the swim team and Hart Regiment (where I played the flute). I decided to quit marching band my junior year in order to swim Canyons year round. Previously I had been an on and off Canyons swimmer. My freshman and sophomore year I received Most Valuable Swimmer for JV girls where I also set some records. Then, I swam Varsity for two years where I placed in top 8 at League Finals. Additionally, I received an Athletic Award all four years.

I continued to swim my first year in college on the San Luis Obispo Swim Club where I trained to walk on to the Cal Poly Swim Team. I never thought I would swim for my college swim team so swimming for Cal Poly this past year was an incredible experience. At Cal Poly I am majoring in Liberal Studies (Education) with a minor in Spanish and Latin American Studies. I will also be pursuing a multi-subject teaching credential. When I'm not studying, I work for the YMCA as an afterschool program leader and lifeguard/ teach swim lessons at Kennedy Fitness Club.

If it has not been evident already I love working with children! As a future teacher I appreciate any chance I get to help children improve in all aspects of their lives. I want my swimmers to not only improve as individual swimmers, but as teammates as well. My experience on the Dolphin Swim Team has been nothing but wonderful and I hope my swimmers have an equal or better experience. I want all of the Dolphins to LOVE coming to swim practice. Dolphin practices and swim meets were and continue to be the highlight of my summer.
